Burn Notice: Tonight at 10/9c

January 22, 2009

One of my favorite tv shows is coming back for it’s 3rd season on USA Network TONIGHT! I am super excited! What is Burn Notice about you ask? Well I’m here to tell you. First I’ll tell you a bit about the show then I’ll talk about the 3 main characters, my opinions on them, and what I like best about them. I’m gonna even throw in some videos. 😀

So here we go…

When spies get fired, they don’t get a letter from human resources.

They get BURNED…

Burn Notice, a sexy, action-packed original series starring Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy. Dumped in his hometown of Miami without money or resources, Michael struggles to put his life back together and find out why he’s been burned. In the meantime, he uses his unique skills and training to help people in need … mostly people who can’t get help from the police.

Burn Notice also stars Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona, a beautiful ex-IRA operative who happens to be Westen’s ex-girlfriend. Bruce Campbell stars as Sam, Michael’s closest buddy in town, a washed up military intelligence contact who is keeping an eye on Michael for the Feds. Created and written by Matt Nix, Burn Notice combines the best of the action/thriller elements with surprising humor and an iconic new breed of spy.

Here is the trailer for it…

I know isn’t it amazing! Look at all the action and explosions! lol 😀

Now for some photos and info about the 3 main characters…

Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) is a covert operative who has been burned (identified as an unreliable or dangerous agent) who now finds himself in his hometown of Miami, unable to leave. With his assets frozen, Michael is forced to live off his wits and any small investigative jobs he can find while he pursues the reason and person or persons who burned him. Highly skilled and extremely clever, Michael displays his abilities by quickly thinking on his feet, improvising electronic devices from commonly available commercial equipment such as radios and cell phones, and by using ordinary items ranging from duct tape or cake frosting in highly unorthodox ways in order to complete a job.

What do I think of Michael? Michael is the type of guy you’d want on your side. He’s an awesome “ass kicker” (yes, I said ass lol). He looks great in anything… especially all of the very nice and expensive suits he wears. He’s real tough, but he’s also got a soft spot. He eats a lot of yogurt too. The show is narrated by him and through out each episode he gives several spy tips which are so cool. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s really nice to look at… really really nice to look at. 😀

Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) is a former IRA operative and Westen’s ex-girlfriend. Fiona re-enters Michael’s life when he was dumped, half-dead, in Miami, and she decides to stay, quickly making herself valuable to Michael. Aside from serving as Michael’s explosives expert, Fiona provides support to Michael on his investigations and at times, assists him in missions to find out who burned him.

What do I think of Fiona? Fiona can be your best friend or your worst enemy. She’s the type of girl that you would not want to piss off. LOL She’s the type of girl who will shoot first and ask questions later. She’s extremely “trigger happy” and can kick ass… to understand what I mean you’ll have to watch an episode because I can’t possible try to explain it in just a few sentences. It’s one of those you’d have to see it to believe it kind of things. She does have a great sense of fashion and would make a great shopping buddy.

Here is a clip of a good ass kicking scene she’s in…

Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell)is an aging semi-retired intelligence operative and former Navy SEAL. With a low amount of cash-on-hand to his name, Axe spends most of his time sleeping with rich, older Miami women in exchange for food and shelter. Sam and Westen are old buddies; Sam is also Westen’s last, tenuous contact in the official spy community. Sam presents himself as “the guy who knows a guy.” He also uses the alias “Chuck Finley” frequently during jobs.

What do I think of Sam? Sam is the type of guy you’d want to go out and have a drink with, though be warned you’d be the one paying since he’s always low on money. He’d make a great friend and partner and he’s got a great sense of humor as well.

Well there you go… I hope that since you know more about the show now and if it interests you that you’ll watch it. It airs tonight on USA NETWORK at 10/9c!

  1. Hi Dani

I love this show! I don’t watch much tv but this is one show that I make sure to watch.

Michael is my favorite character. I love how he can be Mr. Badass Spy one minute and then helping out strangers the next minute. The scenes with him and his mom are always great to watch. Sharon Gless is wonderful. And having Tricia Helfer from BSG is an added bonus.

  2. I’ve seen it and own the first season. Hubby loves it. Michael is of course my favorite. Hello badass good looking spy. Why wouldn’t you love him.
