You’re probably wondering what on earth my post title means… or why I’m saying that. Well, it’s a quote from a book I’m currently reading called Chasing Midnight by Susan Krinard.
I’m a big fan of quotes… I mean it’s amazing how just a sentence or two can sum up something so powerful or meaningful or explain something so well.
I especially LOVE book and movie quotes… so I’m going to share with you some of my favorites today. I’ll show you the book cover, title/author. Then I’ll list the quote and who said it. Then I’ll explain why I like it so much.
First some of my favorite book quotes…

Chasing Midnight by Susan Krinard

“There are far worse things than jazz and lipstick…” -Griffin Durant (hero)
Now I have no problem with jazz or lipstick. I actually like both quite a bit. I just LOVE this quote so much because it fits the story perfectly and where it’s said in the story explains things so well. You’ll just have to take my word for it and read the book to get what I’m saying.

Marley & Me by John Grogan

“Animal lovers are a special breed of human, generous of spirit, full of empathy, perhaps a little prone to sentimentality, and with hearts as big as a cloudless sky.” – John Grogan
John Grogan gives the perfect “definition” of an animal lover. Just perfect. So true in every way. Especially with me being an animal lover it touches my heart in so many ways. 🙂

 The Stranger by Elizabeth Lane

Â
“We all have our scars, Laura,” he said softly. “Some of them are on the outside. Some are on the inside. But we can’t change them. All we can do is accept them as part of who we are and go on living.” – Caleb McCurdy (hero)
All I have to say is what Caleb says is so very, very true. Everyone as scars… even me.

Megan’s Mate by Nora Roberts
Â
Â
Â
Â
“Sometimes a wind comes up, blows you off course. You’re not ready for it, but if you’re lucky, you end up in a more interesting place than you’d planned.” – (I honestly can’t remember who said this. I don’t even own the book to look it up. If someone knows who does could you please post it in the comments and whether they’re the hero/heroine, one of the sisters, etc.? I’d really appreciate it!)
I always have some sort of “wind” that blows me off course. Things never seem to work out as planned for me, but sometimes they turn out better just like the quote says. That’s why this quote is so perfect.
Now for some movie quotes…
Â
Â
A Walk To Remember
“Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful.” – Jamie Sullivan (heroine) and Landon Carter (hero)
I know this movie is based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. I haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet and I’ve LOVED this movie since before I even started reading. It’s one of my favorites. I’m not just a big romance book addict I’m also a big romance movie addict as well. I just can’t pass up a good love story. Like you all know… I’m addicted to them. If you haven’t seen the movie you should and make sure you have tissue, you’re gonna need it. As far as why I like the quote… well first off I know this quote is in the Bible. Though I’m not much of a church/religious person. Anyway, this quote explains love so well and it’s a beautiful quote if I might add.

Batman Begins
Â
Â
“It’s not who you are on the inside, it’s what you do that defines you.” – Rachel Dawes (heroine)
I’m a big movie buff. Especially all the action and crime fighting heroes. Like the Batman movies. I thank my dad for getting me hooked on them. He’s LOVED all the comic book heroes/heroines since before I can remember and now so do I. 🙂 I’m so looking forward to the Wolverine movie which hits theaters May 2009… okay, I’ll stop I’m getting sidetracked here. 🙂 Anyway, back to the quote. This quote makes so much sense because you are who you are on the inside because of what you do. Like it says it’s what you do that defines you. Does that make sense? I hope I’m not confusing anybody. Also, I actually used this quote as my senior quote in the yearbook when I graduated from high school in 2006.
So there you have it… a few of my favorite book and movie quotes. I’m thinking about adding a page here for my favorite book and movie quotes and adding all the ones above to it. It’s kind of up in the air right now. Do you think I should? Keep in mind that if I run across any other book or movie quotes that I really like I’ll post them on here to share with you all.
What to expect tomorrow…
- as of right now it’s unplanned… so you’ll just have to stop by and find out 😀
Now for the question of the day…
Do you have a favorite book and/or movie quote? If so, share! I’d love to hear them… who knows maybe they might be added to my favorites list.
Thanks for stopping by!
